A headsail looming like a huge breaker The black waves of a flying Jolly Roger You could tell but you hardly remember This old tale of a Caribbean raider Coming right at you, right at you... Morning pillows adrift in the sweat You lie stranded in the tropical wet Satin wrinkles like a disturbed water in the wake of the Caribbean raider You just chanced on the Caribbean Raider

Hands Up 06:24
It's alright, hold your hands up Stand up right Hold your hands off Keep your hands off Hold on tight Hold your heads up Keep your hands up it's alright If you do leave the fight Hold your hands up This is to give the heads-up This says we leave our hands up None of the things I am told everyday has brought anything I could hold anyway Opened my eyes, held my hands up. Prove no cheat Keep your hands off Hold your hands off Off the beat Keep your heads up Hold your hands up they care less If you do, leave the mess Hold your hands up Let it all drown in coal-dark waters Take a ground, see all that matters This is to give the heads-up This says we leave our hands up Leave it, leave it hold your hands, your hands up Leave it, leave it hold your hands, your hands up Let me see these hands up

Drop off your bag Step into our Future Your straight line sags this time we're thinking all together Drop off your bag Step into our Future We hoist the flag Up in the sky higher and higher These rules they can't do better Old shoes they walk no further Old keys have to break In locks They would break It's time to think outside the box Yo baw alé alé aw... we had to step on it Ou ben goumé pou pran taw Lè vin pou rivé Ou pèd fòs, ou pèd pyé On dòt kenn sa ou lagé Have you wished to see one day The King giving his crown away Would you be the crazy one Who picks it up and puts it on

about

Grand Baton's second album has focused on Carnival/Trance-like beats. Recorded in New York and mixed by Fab Dupont. Heavy dubstep influence with frenetic caribbean drumming, severely distorted, fuzzy melodic guitars and tribal skin drums.
- “Essentially a hybrid composition of rock and dubstep elements with the temperament of Caribbean carnival music and the “vocabulary of the Ka drum”.[…]Carnal Carnival is a testament to Maillard’s versatility as a songwriter and his dauntlessness in experimenting with and expanding on music with a long-established heritage.[…] As a modern, urban work of music Grand Baton’s Carnal Carnival succeeds on every level. It’s a bold new approach to a deep-rooted musical heritage, a thoughtful tribute to the musicality of an instrument and ultimately just an all out entertaining album.[…]it’s what I call a record with balls!” – Andrei Cherascu
